The Importance of Fulvic & Humic Acid

The main active ingredient in Shilajit resin is Fulvic Acid, but what exactly is it and what makes it so important?

Fulvic Acid is a term used to describe a group of organic acids which are present in ‘Humus’ (decomposing organic matter in soil).

Humus is essential for holding moisture in soil and ensures that nutrients can be stored effectively keeping the soil healthy and fertile.

Under the right conditions, organic matter will process into ‘Humus’. Low temperatures, pressure, moisture and lack of sunlight allow for a wide biodiversity to thrive in the soil and eventually over time will go through the ‘humification’ process.

Humus consists of 3 types of organic acids, Humins, Humic Acids and Fulvic Acids. These acids are all products of microbial and geological activities.

Organic acids in Humus have a a negative charge which attract positively charged trace mineral ions such as Magnesium, calcium and Potassium which allow the soil to retain its nutrients.

These components will help to draw out impurities and toxins from the environment.

The main difference between Humins, Humic Acids and Fulvic Acids are the sizes of the particles.

Humin has the largest particles with the heaviest molecules. It has no water solubility. For this reason it is resistant to microbial decomposition or being absorbed by plants. It has the highest carbon content and lowest oxygen content and takes the longest to break down.

Humic Acid has smaller particles and can be soluble by water (above pH2). It is easier for microbes to break it down to form bare ions. This enhances its ability for living organisms to absorb the nutrients in Humic Acids.

Fulvic Acid has the smallest particles of the 3. The particles are made up elemental ions which are the building blocks of all matter. It is soluble in water (any pH level). The ionic trace minerals are electrically charged and small enough to pass through any cell. The carbon content contains the lowest carbon content and highest oxygen content out of the 3, along with the highest trace mineral count. Fulvic acid needs mild temperatures and high moisture to be formed in the soil.

Fulvic Acid is the end product of natural mineralisation. Its tiny molecular particles make it highly compatible with the biochemistry of all living organisms. It is able to transfer its rich mineral content into cells with ease giving its receiver the most beneficial results.

The main health benefits of Fulvic acid are:

- Improves Metabolism

- Removes Toxins and Heavy Metals

- Reduces Inflammation

- Speeds up Cellular Rejuvenation

- Improves Skin Conditions

- Boosts Energy Levels

- Increases Longevity

- Improves Memory and Cognitive Function

Altai Mountain Shilajit has been 3rd party lab tested showing Humic Acid levels of 8.2% and Fulvic Acid levels of 75%.
